Welcome to another bite-size episode of Chewing the Fat I am your host Big Robb. It's all Hallows Eve. And you know, I usually like to put an episode out with a spooky themed poem or something like that. And this year is no exception. But first I want to give a big shout out to some of my favorite other podcasts that are out there that are in the spooky realm.
00:39
My friend Jonathan Cook has an amazing podcast called Gather By The Ghost Light. If you like spooky stories, thriller stories, horror stories, you need to check it out. It's like old time radio drama. He does an amazing job with the sound structure of that and giving you the atmosphere like you're right in the middle of that story. So check out Gather By The Ghost Light. Also a new favorite of mine. If you're...

Definitely on that horror bent is called Leo Brawn. It follows a team of detectives from the underworld. It's such a cool concept. You definitely need to check out Leo Brawn, wherever you listen to your podcasts at. And you may never know, you might hear me on some of those as well. And that's not why I like them. I mean, you know.
01:38
But that's why I sought them out to be a part of their cast and stuff. It's really, really well done stuff. So definitely check out Gather by the Ghost Light and Leo Brawn. And as we are transitioning past Halloween into the other holiday seasons, you know, I've been on this been on this trek, this journey into voiceover. And so.
02:02
That's why I seek out things like podcasts that are drama, that allow me to do acting. And it's not just regular voices. It gives me a chance to do character voices and things like that. And for this holiday, I've launched a brand new website called thevoiceofsanta.com. So if you need the voice of Santa on your commercial or your social posts or you want a holiday greeting or a Christmas story read or...

Just need a voicemail for your kids so that they'll act right before the big man comes Check it out get in touch. I'd love to help you out in this magical magical holiday season Through thevoiceofSanta.com of course my regular Website for my voice work is thevoiceofRobb.com try to keep that marketing consistent, you know That's what it is. I had the opportunity to audition for a YouTube channel that is doing poems. It's a really, really cool concept, bringing poetry and art back into the world. It's got these great voice actors that are on there reading poems. They usually do like once a week or once a month release different poems. I did get one on there. They're on YouTube. It's called Be Spoke Poetry, not Bespoke.
03:27
but Be Spoke Poetry. It's on YouTube, check that out. And I auditioned for a poem called Twist Ye Twine Ye but I didn't get that. I think I just took it in a different direction. But I contacted the folks at Be Spoke and they said it'd be okay if I played my audition track for you here for the Halloween episode. So I hope you enjoy this as my unheard audition.

for Be Spoke Poetry. Twist Ye Twine Ye by Sir Walter Scott. Narrated by Robb Smith. Twist ye twine ye even so, mingle shades of joy and woe, hope and fear and peace and strife in the thread of human life. While the mystic twist is spinning,

And the infant's life beginning, Dimly seen through twilight bending, Lo, what varied shapes attending! Passions wild and follies vain, Pleasure soon exchanged for pain, Doubt and jealousy and fear, In the magic dance appear! Now they wax and now they dwindle,

Whirling with the whirling spindle, twist ye, twine ye, even so, mingle human bliss and woe.

Happy Halloween. I hope you have a great night. If you're out trick or treating, be careful, be safe, have fun, move through this world with kindness. If you're listening to this and it's not Halloween, still, move through this world with kindness. I think that's one of the greatest things we could do for ourselves and for each other. And if you would like to support this podcast, I'd appreciate it if you bought me a coffee at chewingthefatbr.com. It's that little yellow cup down in the corner.
